New Changes in Real Estate Licensing

A new law is in the works at the state level (HB2910A) which will change the category of “sole practitioner.” If the law is approved the category of “sole practitioner” will eliminated and all current sole practitioners will become principal brokers with no additional requirements and no additonal fee. Real esate broker licensees seeking to operate independently after that date will need to obtain a rpincipal broker license.
- This will eliminate the rquirement that a princial broker supervise real estate brokers and states that a principal broker “may” supervise.
- Allows a real esate broker to “temporary supervise and control” the rofessional real estate activity of a princpal broker due tounforessen circumstances or temporary absence for up to 90 days
- Eliminates the concept of “licensed personal assistant.”
